28 Nov. The Friends of the East London Museum are collaborating with the museum in celebrating the 100 years of Proclamation of the East London Museum. Joy of Books and JBM Theatre have put together an exciting theatre production for children which tells the history of the museum through fun characters and loads of audience participation. This will be free of charge at the Guild Theatre at 10am. Joy of Books and JBM Theatre have put together a theatre production for adults which tells the history of the museum through interesting characters, including world renowned Dr. Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer. This will be held free of charge at the Guild Theatre at 2pm. The museum will be open extended hours from 9am to 7pm, and entry will be free. There will also be short tours of the museum by scientist, Kevin Cole at 4pm and 5.30pm; and a talk on the history of the museum by Prof. Mike Bruton at 7pm in the MCL Hall, all at no charge.
