Amathole Museum

The Amathole Museum, formerly the Kaffrarian Museum, was established in 1884 and is one of the oldest museums in South Africa. It is a natural and cultural history museum located in Qonce (King William’s Town). The museum houses the second largest collection of mammals in South Africa and includes the taxidermied body of Huberta, the hippopotamus.
